The Dutch Houses project documents the remaining Dutch houses in Brooklyn. Many of the original Dutch residents of Brooklyn were slaveholders, and Brooklyn had the highest concentration of enslaved people outside of the South. The project has two components; signage installed near each house, and photographs of the houses along with histories of the slaveholding families.
